FAQ

Kimchi

What is Kimchi?

Kimchi is a Korean staple—essentially a mix of fermented vegetables, most commonly napa cabbage and radish, spiced up with garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and fish sauce. It’s tangy, spicy, a little funky, and packed with probiotics thanks to the fermentation process. Kimchi isn’t just a side dish; it’s a versatile ingredient that can enhance everything from fried rice to stews. It’s a perfect blend of bold flavors and deep tradition, with recipes passed down and tweaked over generations.About Us

How fresh is your Kimchi?

When it comes to our kimchi, we go beyond just using quality & fresh ingredients sourced from Korea and San Diego—everything from vibrant fruits and crisp vegetables to premium fish. We craft our kimchi with care, preparing it just a day or two before it reaches you to ensure peak freshness. Made using traditional methods, every batch is hand-cut, hand-mixed, and rooted in our cherished family recipe, delivering unmatched quality in every bite.

We take immense pride in the quality of our kimchi. Every single ingredient is meticulously cleaned and prepared with care and dedication. For us, it’s not just about making "kimchi" – it’s about sharing a piece of our culture and tradition with you, one bag at a time.

How do I store Kimchi?

We recommend storing your kimchi in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. When stored properly, it can last up to a year. To maintain its quality, always use separate utensils to scoop out the amount you want and transfer it to a separate dish. This helps prevent cross-contamination and ensures your kimchi stays flavorful and fresh.

What are the health benefits of Kimchi?

Kimchi’s got a lot going for it when it comes to health. It’s loaded with probiotics from fermentation, which can help keep your gut happy and digestion smooth. It’s also packed with vitamins like A, B, and C, plus antioxidants that support your immune system. The garlic and chili give it natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and since it’s mostly veggies, it’s low in calories but high in fiber. It’s basically a delicious way to sneak a ton of health perks into your meals.

Local Pick Up

Can I change my scheduled pick up date?

Yes, you can change your pick-up date! However, we require three days' notice for any changes.

Why do you accept orders a week in advance?

We gladly accept pre-orders in advance, as we operate as a very small family made-to-order (MTO) business rather than a traditional restaurant where meals are ready anytime. It takes us days to source and prepare each ingredient from various places to ensure you receive the most authentic, high-quality dishes while minimizing food waste.

If I cant make it to my appointment, can I receive a refund?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds. Deposits cover the costs of sourcing ingredients, the time and effort spent on preparation, and the care that goes into crafting each individual dish.

If I cant make it to my appointment / time window what happens?

You will lose both your dishes and your deposit.

Can I make any modifications to my order?

Unfortunately, we do not make special modifications to any dish to uphold quality, consistency, and want to keep the dishes as authentic as possible.
